Partnerships to Support Entrepreneurs of Color through COVID and Beyond
A Virtual Fireside Chat with Accion Opportunity Fund and Fifth Third Bank

The COVID-19 pandemic continues to take a devastating toll on small business. Entrepreneurs of color, a population that already faced greater challenges in starting or growing a business even before the pandemic, have been disproportionately impacted. They were less able to access financial relief programs and are concentrated in industries that have been hardest hit by pandemic-related closures.

To respond to these challenges, a number of players in the business support ecosystem developed new programs and partnerships to reach the most vulnerable businesses. While we still have a ways to go, now a year and a half into the pandemic, we can reflect back on the progress that has been made and what we have learned about supporting small businesses during the pandemic, and how businesses are innovating and re-inventing themselves to get through the crisis.

Join us for a virtual fireside chat featuring Accion Opportunity Fund (AOF) CEO Luz Urrutia and Fifth Third Bank’s Head of Business Banking and Chief Corporate Social Responsibility Officer Kala Gibson for a fireside chat focused on solutions and partnerships that have risen up to support the evolving needs of entrepreneurs of color.
